Getting your head around just what exactly neighbouring rights are can be a little tricky but AIR is set to make this a little easier with a free webinar this week!
Taking place this Wednesday 28 October at 9am, the organisation will host the session which will "discuss the ways artists and labels can get on top of their international revenue streams".
Panelists include Susan Cotchin (Good Neighbour), Gerry McKenna (White Sky), Jake Mason (Soul Messin' Records), Jon Payne (David Weise & Associates - US), Sohail Hasan (Xelon Digital) and Lee Barlow (Mushroom Records).
“Thanks to support from Creative Victoria, we look forward to presenting this webinar to provide knowledge and insights from industry experts,” said AIR CEO Maria Amato.
“Good Neighbour has been around the block a few times collaborating with musicians and their business partners to maximise their overall income," said Cotchin.
"We advocate for all music creators to be paid through being treated the same in each country regardless of their nationality. It is via panels such as this AIR webinar, that knowledge can be shared and we can demystify the complexities synonymous with neighbouring rights.
"Those in the know need to speak up and doggedly fight for artists rights across the globe. The panellists sharing their expertise in this webinar next Wednesday, will do just that.
"I am so energised for the opportunity to progress the understanding of this field just that little bit more."
