The highly anticipated fifth studio album from Aussie rocker DZ Deathrays have been announced alongside the LP’s lead single.

A follow-up to 2019’s Positive Rising: Part 1, the aptly titled Positive Rising: Part 2 will be released on July 9 via I OH YOU.

Accompanying the announcement is Fired Up, which is the band’s first new music since last year and a song that apparently went through 15 different variants early on.

“Basically at some point, Shane [Parsons, vocals/guitar] just turned Fired Up into a big stadium-rocking-Bruce Springsteen-style-anthem and I guess that’s when we knew what we were dealing with,” drummer Simon Ridley said.

On the new album’s title track, Parsons noted: “Positive Rising is the closing song of the two-part album. The track comes from thoughts of an undercurrent of positivity throughout this world making its way to the surface. Starting small and developing into something that could potentially change lives for the better.”
